Mantooth

D&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rules

by Joe Mashuga

Mantooth: This ancient longsword looks quite ordinary, but holds powerful enchantments designed to thwart spells and wizards alike. Mantooth (also known as Darkstar, Magefool, and Spellcleaver) is a +2 longsword that functions as a bane weapon against any being that uses sorcery or arcane magic, increasing its enhancement bonus to +4 and dealing +2d6 points of bonus damage on a successful strike. It can cast spell turning twice per day upon command.

Finally, once per day upon command, Mantooth disjoins any magical barrier that it strikes (for this purpose, spells such as the Bigby's Hand spells, forcecage, magic circle against chaos/evil/good/law, minor globe of invulnerability, Otiluke's Sphere spells, prismatic sphere, prismatic wall, shield, and wall of force are considered magical barriers).

Caster Level: 17th; Prerequisites: Craft Magic Arms and Armor, Mordenkainen's disjunction, spell turning, summon monster I; Market Price: 286,295 gp; Cost to Create: 142,990 gp + 11,500 XP.
