ShiavonaD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby DamienDamage: 1d8 Description: The schiavona is a longsword, 44 inches in total length that was developed long before the Cataclysm in Istar. The design of the sword was adopted by the finest blacksmiths of Solamnia and Ergoth, thus preserving the design after the fall of Istar. This particular style of longsword has only a single-edged blade and a steel basket-hilt in a flowing, lovely design. The basket not only protects the hand, but helps to keep the sword in the wielder's grip (+2 bonus to saves against being disarmed). The schiavona is highly favored among Ergothian and Solamnian mercenaries, as well as many types of fighters.
