Chapak

D&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rules

by Joe Mashuga

The "snapper axe" is a kender weapon that combines the features of a sling and a hand axe. Its axe blade extends past its wooden handle, forming two prongs that are connected by a sling. Each round, the wielder must decide whether to use the chapak as a hand axe or a sling.

The chapak is a Small martial weapon that costs 15 gp and weighs 5 pounds. It threatens a critical hit on a natural attack roll of 20. Its axe blade deals 1d6 points of slashing damage, and deals triple damage on a critical hit. When used as a sling, the chapak deals 1d4 points of bludgeoning damage, and deals double damage on a critical hit. In order to use the chapak as a sling, the wielder must have stones or sling bullets.
