Gnomish Traveling ToolkitD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Joe MashugaThese leather artisan's outfits hold dozens of tools for the gnome-on-the-go. The creators were surprised to discover that the traveling toolkits also protect their wearers in combat. Some races jokingly refer to this creation as "accidental armor". The outfit's multiple layers serves to protect the wearer from cold weather (+5 circumstance bonus to Fortitude saves against cold weather exposure). The wearer of a traveling toolkit has enough tools to duplicate the following toolkits: masterwork artisan's tools, climber's kit, magnifying glass, merchant's scale, and masterwork thieves' tools. The traveling toolkit has an armor bonus of +3, an arcane spell failure chance of 10%, a maximum Dexterity bonus of +4, and an armor check penalty of —2. It can be donned in 2 minutes, donned hastily in 1 minute, and removed in 1 minute. It is considered light armor. The gnomish traveling toolkit costs 300 gp and weighs 20 pounds.
