Class Features

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Moon disciples gain no additional proficiency in any weapon or armor.

Spells per Day: A moon disciple continues training in magic as befits a priest of a God of Magic. Thus, when a new moon disciple level is gained, the character gains new spells per day as if she had also gained a level in an arcane spellcasting class she belonged to before she added the prestige class. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained (metamagic or item creation feats, and so on). This essentially means that she adds the level of moon disciple to the level of some other arcane spellcasting class the character has, then determines spells per day and caster level accordingly. Use this higher level for the purposes of determining lunar magic effects in the Dragonlance setting.

If a character had more than one arcane spellcasting class before she became a moon disciple, she must decide to which class she adds each level of moon disciple for purposes of determining spells per day when she adds the new level.

Domain (Ex): Upon adopting the moon disciple class, and again at 6th level, a character gains access to a domain of her choice. The character can choose any domain made available by her deity. The character gains the granted power associated with the domain she chooses, and can select from the spells in that domain for her daily domain spell.

Divine Preparation (Ex): At 1st level a moon disciple is able to prepare divine spells drawn from the list of cleric spells available to her from her God of Magic in place of arcane spells, as if she was a cleric. Each divine spell uses up an arcane spell slot one level higher than the spell's actual level. Spells so prepared follow all the stanard rules for divine spells, including ignoring arcane spell failure. Spells so prepared remain influenced by the effects of lunar influence.

Arcane Defense: At 2nd level the moon disciple gains a +1 bonus to savng throws against arcane magic, and spell-like effects that are cast as if by an arcane spellcaster. This bonus increases to +2 at 5th level, and +3 at 8th level.

Divine Infusion: At 3rd level the moon disciple is able to prepare some of its arcane spells with a divine component. Half the damage inflicted by one of these spells results directly from divine power, and is therefore not subject to being reduced by protection from elements or similar magic. An arcane spell that is infused with divine power uses up a spell slot two levels higher than the spell's actual level. [This ability is identical to the feat Sacred Spell, only it applies to arcane spells instead of divine spells.]

Bonus feat: At 4th and 9th levels, the moon disciple gains a bonus metamagic or item creation feat. They must meet all the usual requirements for any feat they gain. For the purposes of determining spellcaster level for item creation feat requirements, add this prestige classes' levels to the base arcane class.

Arcane Rebuke (Su): At 7th level, the moon disciple is able to use any divine spell as a counterspell for an arcane spell of the same school and level. For example, any 6th level divine spell from the Transmutation school could be used to counterspell Disintegrate (a 6th level wizard Transmutation spell). Metamagic effects are ignored for the purposes of determining spell level.

Arcane Immunity (Su): At 10th level, the moon disciple is immune to arcane spells of their chosen school (Abjuration for Solinari, Illusion for Lunitari, Necromancy for Nuitari).

Moon Disciple Clerical Spells

Moon Disciples have access to clerical spells, granted to them by their specific God of Magic. A Moon Disciple may prepare any clerical spell as described in Divine Preparation, above, but they are restricted to clerical spells that belong to certain schools, as well as all Universal spells. These are:

Solinari: Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Transmutation
Lunitari: Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Transmutation
Nuitari: Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Necromancy, Transmutation

In addition, each God of Magic has its own Domains available to moon disciples:

Solinari: Good, Protection
Lunitari: Illusion (from FRCS), Trickery
Nuitari: Evil, Undeath (from FRCS)*

*A Moon disciple of Nuitari who chooses the Undeath domain gains the ability to rebuke undead as if they were a cleric of their moon disciple level, not the Extra Turning feat.
