BrutesD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby André La RocheMedium-Sized Humanoid Climate/Terrain: Any Land Brutes are a strange race not native to the continent of Ansalon. These strange and superstitious humanoids were discovered by Lord Ariakan, the founder of the Knights of Takhisis. Brutes rarely, if ever, wear armor; depending instead on a mystical blue paint that protects them better than many types of armors. The brutes refuse to discuss the materials used in the creation of the paint, believing them to be sacred. Coming from an unknown source, full-grown brutes range easily up to 7 feet tall. Aside from their tall stature, these mysterious people can best be described as a cross between elves and dwarves; combining aspects of each race, the typical brute is quite lean but powerfully muscled. Often brutes can be found in the employ of the Knights of Takhisis. Brutes speak brutish and occasionally a pidgin version of common. CombatBrutes throw themselves into the fray of combat with reckless abandon, yet behind each seemingly ill-formulated attack lies a devious strategy. Even a cursory glance will prove these strange and exotic people to be quite war-minded.
