Huma's ShieldD&D 3e (3.0/3.5) Rulesby Trampas WhitemanGame StatisticsHuma's Shield is +3/+5 vs. dragons. DescriptionThis large shield is carved with intricate symbols of the Knights of the Crown. Unique PropertiesThe shield's magic also protects the wielder against breath weapon attacks, so that a successful Reflex Save will result in no damage, and a failed save will result in only half damage. Those who wield the Shield of Huma will find that they have a bonus to saves against magic cast at them by dragons. The DC for Spell Saves vs. Dragon Magic is lowered by 5. HistoryThis is the shield used by the legendary Huma Dragonbane. The shield is quite prominent in many of Huma's lesser tales, especially the ones before the time of the dragonlances. It was said that the shield never failed Huma, and it saved his life many a time. After the Blue Lady's War, a prophecy came about that said that when the Brightblade, Flint's Axe, and Huma's Shield were all reunited, it would bring about the symbolic return of Kiri-Jolith to Krynn. What this prophecy means is a mystery.
