Chambers of AstinusThe Authors of DragonlanceMark AnthonyIn the earlier days of Dragonlance, Mark contributed several short stories and one novel to the line. Since those days he has moved onto creating his own highly successful fantasy series called 'The Last Rune'. Mark has blossomed from the promising young author who gave so much to Dragonlance, to an acclaimed and successful creator of his own series.
Linda P. BakerLinda was always an avid writer but never a published author until one day she was discovered by Margaret Weis in a writing workshop. Margaret was so impressed with the quality of Linda's work, that shortly after she was signed and put out her first short story. Not long after the release of this short story, Linda was then commissioned to write several novels and more short stories for the Dragonlance line and has turned into a successful author and regular contributor to the ongoing saga.
Harold BakstHarold produced two short stories for the Dragonlance line on the tail of his own novel release Kian the Mariner. Harold's career turned to lecturing, which he has continued as a successful English lecturer at various universities to this day.
Edo Van BelkomAn award-winning horror author who takes great pleasure in scaring the pants off people! Edo is one of those authors who is simply described (in my own humble words) as 'bloody brilliant'. Dragonlance was blessed with his talents in the tale of Lord Loren Soth, and he has continued with numerous works, many of which have earned him awards and the respect of the literary community.
Nancy Varian BerberickBetween her many contributions to the Dragonlance line, her own Garrac and Elvish novels, Nancy has been one of the strongest and energetic author in the setting. Short stories and novels abound in the line, to this day Nancy is still one of the largest creative outputs that the folks who work on the setting can draw upon, as she delivers one powerful novel after the next.
Donald BingleBest known for more than fifteen years as the world's top-ranked player of classic role playing games such as Dungeons & Dragons, Donald J. Bingle is not only a writer of a variety of role playing adventures and gaming materials (Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, Chill, Paranoia, Timemaster, and more), but of movie reviews (in early issues of Knights of the Dinner Table), stories, and screenplays.
Stan BrownAt heart a true gamer and designer, Stan initially entered the Dragonlance world as one of the Fifth Age Design Team, working on the gaming line. He later moved across into novels and has shown his talent as not only a wonderful game designer, but also as an author. Stan is another of the driving parties who are delivering the New Adventures to the younger readers of Dragonlance.
Scott BuraczewskiScott is a Wisconsin resident who with the inspiration from his girlfriend and pet rabbit, wrote a short story for the Rebels and Tyrants anthology and added himself to the distinguished list of Dragonlance authors.
Jamie ChambersThe fan who made it good. A long time ago there was a dedicated fan who so impressed Margaret Weis that when the Dragonlance gaming line was picked up by Margaret's company Sovereign Press, Jamie was placed in charge of running it. Jamie is now one of the driving forces behind Sovereign Press and his work can be seen throughout every gaming product that SP has released. He also had the time to submit a story for one of the latest anthologies, showing his skills as a writer.
Douglas W. ClarkIn his time, Douglas has been many things. From a lab director, environmental consultant, teacher and lecturer, Douglas actually had time to also be a fully fledged writer who has produced several novels. He also has had a short story published in the Search for Power anthology, amongst everything else.
William W. ConnorsWilliam was originally a strong proponent and contributor to the Ravenloft setting before coming onboard as one of the designers for the Fifth Age Design Team. William released the singular short story for the Relics and Omens anthology, showing his talent as an author as well as a game designer. Nowadays he is focussed more on graphic design and art, showing the broad range of talents that he is capable of (as well as being a wonderful guy in general).
Tonya C. CookTonya is the other part of the dynamic duo consisting of herself and Paul Thompson. The pair have written numerous novels for the series since the early days of Dragonlance to the present. Outside of her collaborative work with Paul, Tonya has written many novels spanning across the various genres of fantasy, science fiction and horror.
Sue Weinlein CookBy trade, a dynamic game designer who first entered Dragonlance as part of the Fifth Age Design Team. Sue gave two offerings to the Dragonlance novel line in the form of short stories as well her great contributions to the gaming line. These days Sue is kept extremely busy running Malhovoc Press with her husband, legendary game designer Monte Cook.
Jeff CrookA more recent addition to the ranks of Dragonlance authors, Jeff has been one of the newer powers of the setting. From his first short story in the Relics and Omens anthology, Jeff has consistently delivered more powerful novel and 'flights of fancy' to immerse ourselves in. A great author and one who has been more than willing to educate the world about the habits of the gnomes in Dragonlance.
Giles CusterGiles has worked on several novels and numerous short stories outside of the Dragonlance world with fellow author Todd Fahnestock. The pair collaborated on the short story 'Songsayer' which introduced Giles to the world of Dragonlance.
Tina DaniellAn experienced newspaper columnist/writer who turned her hand to Dragonlance novels in the 90s. Tina produced three novels for the series before returning to other passions in the literary world.
Dezra DespainThe nom-de-plume once used by Tracy Hickman. Under this name he penned a single short story for the Dragonlance line.
Ellen Dodge SeversonIn another life, Ellen was one of the early authors for Dragonlance, who delighted us with several fine novels. These days she is involved with many different organisations, however writing remains her chief passion. Ellen works as a lecturer and instructor at several universities.
Aron EisenbergAron is oftentimes better known as the colorful actor who played Nog in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. A long time fan of the Dragonlance series, Aron turned his hand to penning several short stories with Margaret Weis and produced some fine works on the Travelling Players of Gilean.
Todd FahnestockTodd is a dreamer and lover of all things fantasy based, who turned himself from fan into author. Todd has produced several novels and short stories outside of Dragonlance, several of which in the company of fellow DL author Giles Custer.
Roland GreenRoland is an author and lecturer in literary studies who has produced many novels outside the realm of Dragonlance, as well as four novels based around the Knights of Solamnia. Roland has also penned several novels on Conan, the Jannisaries series and the Starcruiser Shenadoah series. He presently still serves as a lecturer across several universities.
Jeff GrubbJeff Grubb has written for many different worlds in the TSR/WoTC universe and has been a longtime contributor to the Dragonlance setting. Jeff is semi-obsessed with the gnomes and has spent the most work on them. If ever there was a comedian amongst the authors, Jeff would be that person. A fantastic author and all round wonderful guy.
John GrubberYet another Dragonlance fan who has 'made it good'. John is still writing his great thesis on the bakali and has had several works published in the Dragonlance line.
Dan HarndenBetter known for his pursuits in writing for the stage and screen, Dan occasionally writes stories as well. Since his dabbling in Dragonlance, he has hit the big time. However he left us with a wonderful tale.
John HelfersJohn is a longtime Dragonlance fan and a respected author/editor in his own right. Having had over thirty short stories published as well as several novels, he has recently contributed to the Dragonlance Saga and made his mark amongst the authors involved in the setting.
Mary HerbertMary Herbert was an acclaimed author before she even set foot into the Dragonlance world, having had bestselling Dark Horse novels already up her sleeve. She first started writing fantasy novels in high school and never looked back. Mary has already contributed a vast amount to the setting and is turning out to be one of the major authors of the setting in recent years.
Laura HickmanLaura is a respected author, game designer and also the wife of Dragonlance founder Tracy Hickman. Laura has contributed vast amounts to the setting and now works chiefly with Tracy on their own projects and world: The Bronze Canticles.
Tracy HickmanAs one of the founders of the entire Dragonlance setting and co-founder of the Dragonlance novel line with Margaret Weis, Tracy is one of the most respected authors in the setting. Tracy has worked on Dragonlance since the beginning and still writes stories and has an influence that heavily impacts both the novel and gaming lines to this day. Tracy is also heavily involved with his own world (The Bronze Canticles), which he works on with his wife Laura.
Miranda HornerMiranda long worked for TSR as an editor and within the gaming line before turning her hand to writing short stories for the series. She has contributed a great deal to the overall setting and it is a pleasure to see her stories in print.
Kevin James KageKevin has long been the bard of Dragonlance. He writes and sings his own music and has long been a great asset in the fan community of Dragonlance. He contributed these stories during the early years of the Fifth Age of DL.
J. Robert KingRob King is a member of the Alliterates, an amazing author who has produced many wide and varied works, and a wonderful person who is happy to answer queries for his fans. Rob has contributed to the Dragonlance world and also the Ravenloft line and writes novels that cannot be put down readily.
Mary KirchoffMary has been working on the Dragonlance Saga since the early days, having first worked as an author and then moving up the ranks of Wizard of the Coast itself. Mary has contributed to most of the worlds that Wizards of the Coast produce and amongst many other things has been a longtime editor and a strong force in the DL world.
Richard A. KnaakRichard has been a powerhouse amongst those who have long contributed to the Dragonlance Saga. His stories are amongst some of the finest and most respected and he is the chief author who handles the minotaurs in the setting. Truly one of the great authors of Dragonlance. Outside of DL, Richard has produced numerous novels in other lines, including Warcraft.
Adam LeshAdam is a longtime fan of the setting and an avid gamer, who offered up several short stories and introduced the Dragonsbane into the setting.
Robyn McGrewRobyn is a Las Vegas resident who had a career change in the early 90s, becoming a writer and having numerous short stories published. 'The Cost' is one such offering.
Dixie Lee McKeoneDixie Lee has written around twenty novels over her career, producing several Birthright novels and others outside of the TSR/WoTC lines, before offering up a tale on the infamous Uncle Trapspringer (well 'one' of the Uncle Trapspringers anyway).
Steve MillerSteve is better known as a game designer who has contributed monstrous amounts to the Dragonlance gaming line, most notably as one of the Fifth Age Design Team. Steve works outside of the setting these days, primarily on his own line, and gave us this wonderful story on Gilthanas in the novel line.
Roger E. MooreSecond only to Nick O'Donohoe in the volume of short stories he has produced for the series, Roger is another massive contributer to the series. Roger is a game designer and editor for Wizards of the Coast, who has worked on pretty much every line they have.
Brian MurphyBrian has worked as an editor for numerous magazines and other publications, also serving as a reviewer on books, web sites and movies. He recently offered up a fine work for one of the more recent Dragonlance anthologies.
Douglas NilesLike Knaak, Doug seems to be popping out brilliant novels on a fairly frequent basis. He is a member of the Alliterates (alongside many other DL & FR authors) and is an all around wonderful guy. Outside of Dragonlance, Doug has produced the Watershed trilogy as well as an alternate history of World War II.
Kate NovakOver the years Kate has done considerable work for numerous lines in the TSR/WoTC universe. Back in the 80s she produced this single wonderful story on everyone's favourite plainswoman, Goldmoon.
Nick O'DonohoeOver the course of the entire saga, Nick has produced more short stories than any other author for Dragonlance. Not content with just being a prolific short story writer for Dragonlance, Nick is also the author of the Crossroads series.
Janet PackJanet has produced several short stories for Dragonlance, as well as having composed a good deal of the music used in some of the sourcebooks. Janet is also known for having performed as Tasslehoff Burrfoot at GenCon, as well as her own original musical performances. A lovely lady whose more recent work can be seen in the DAW anthologies.
Dan ParkinsonDan was not only a respected writer in the fantasy, sci-fi and western genres, he was also the foremost writer on dwarves in the Dragonlance setting for quite a long while. Unfortunately, Dan passed away in May 2001. Dan's contributions to DL and to fans everywhere across all genres is dearly missed.
Danny PearyFar better known for being a tv/film/music critic as well as a popular sportswriter, Danny takes time to write the occasional story. Back in the early days of Dragonlance, he was kind enough to pen a wonderful tale for us all to enjoy. Since then his guides on Cult Movies are famous everywhere and he broadened to new heights in his writing.
Don PerrinDon is yet another member of the Alliterates and an author who has produced some of the finest novels in Dragonlance, many in collaboration with Margaret Weis. Don has penned many works on the art of war and the battlefield, and has a mind crafted to depict military battles in a breathtaking manner.
Chris PiersonChris is a Dragonlance fan from way back who won a fan competition that Margaret Weis held in the late 90s. Margaret was so impressed with the quality of Chris' work, that soon he was commissioned to write a short story and then to pen several novels. The quality of Chris' work has gone from strength to strength, leading him to become one of the most respected authors of the setting. As well as being a successful author in the series, Chris is also a computer game designer/programmer.
Jean RabeOver the years, Jean has grown from a smaller contributor to the setting, to one of the most influential forces in the Dragonlance setting to date. She has produced a score of novels and is unrelenting in her fabulous releases. Jean has worked across multiple settings and penned a vast amount of works over her career. It is expected that she will pen many more Dragonlance novels in the coming years.
Kevin RandleIn one lifetime, Kevin Randle write adventure and fantasy stories, which came to light in short story anthologies and also in several published novels. He soon turned his hand to writing novels about aliens and UFO's and has become one of the leading literary minds on this subject matter. Kevin is known as a lecturer and leading author on UFO's.
John Maddox RobertsOne of the quintessential mystery authors, who has penned many detective and noir-based novels, John is the author of over 45 novels. The master of mystery turned his hand to mystery-fantasy when asked to complete a novel in the Dragonlance line, and produced the first ever Dragonlance murder mystery novel.
Fergus RyanTo date, Fergus has contributed one humorous novel and an entertaining short story to the world of Dragonlance. A former resident of West Belfast and promising new author, I look forward to seeing what else he may contribute to Dragonlance and the wider literary community.
Jeff SampsonAll-round nice guy and was one of most active authors online amongst the fans. Jeff is well versed in DL, and always willing to answer any and all questions about the New Adventures line of DL novels. Jeff has begun his work on the New Adventures line and promises to be a strong name in the saga for a few years to come.
Mark SehestedtMark is a book editor for Wizards of the Coast and has long worked on the multiple lines that they manage, supporting authors and offering insights into the numerous worlds. Mark has finally given a glimpse of his literary power in the latest offerings in the saga.
Barbara & Scott SiegelThe Siegels are one of the most popular names in entertainment. Extremely successful columnists and reviewers on films, theatrical works and novels, they are respected widely in the entertainment industry. Scott Siegel is also known as a successful playwright himself. Back in their less busy and star-studded days, they penned several short stories and one novel. A great contribution from the illustrious pair.
Morris SimonAn author who also wears the hats of anthropologist and IT consultant. Morris is a talented writer and occasional university lecturer. He has written several times for TSR, and once for the world of Dragonlance.
Warren B. SmithAn author of many fiction and non-fiction books, Warren was also an avid rock 'n' roll fan. Known to have merrily typed away his novels on his Apple Mac whilst listening to loud rock. Sadly Warren passed in May 2003.
Ree SoesbeeRee is the driving creative force behind the 'Legend of the Five Rings' setting. Having contributed to many gaming books for different settings, she has since penned several novels. Ree has now turned her hand to being an author for the New Adventures series of Dragonlance novels.
Lucien SoulbanA promising author who penned this short story for Dragonlance and has done numerous other short stories for anthologies set in other times and spaces. Lucien also writes for White Wolf's Vampire series and has completed one novel for them to date.
Kevin T. SteinAn author, an actor, an afficinado of kendo (Japanese swordfighting). Kevin has all sorts of talents and is a popular Dragonlance author. He has lately contributed in quite a few of the anthologies in Dragonlance, as well as for the setting, Magic: The Gathering. Look for him everywhere, you never know where the elusive Kevin will pop up next.
Amy StoutA writer and editor who hails from New York. Amy has been a strong name in both the fantasy and sci-fi genres for over a decade.
Stephen D. SullivanAn Origins award-winning author, Steve has penned numerous novels and several for the Dragonlance setting. He is one of those exciting authors who seems very keen to break new ground and cover new areas in DL. And a great guy to boot! Look for his more recent works in the New Adventures line of Dragonlance novels.
Paul ThompsonA military and history buff, prominent author since the early days, and all-around nice guy. Paul has long contributed to the series and been a major power in Dragonlance from the beginning to the present day. Paul is a prolific author who has worked tirelessly on Dragonlance and many other projects for a long time. Like many of the other lasting DL authors, he is more than happy to roam the fan communities and participate where needed. A great author and inspiration to all the fans.
Tim WaggonerA newer author who is working with Dan Willis and Steve Sullivan in bringing younger readers into the Dragonlance setting with his fine novels in the New Adventures line.
Margaret WeisThe first lady of Dragonlance! Margaret has long been the heart and soul of the Dragonlance setting with Tracy Hickman. Margaret and Tracy penned the first Dragonlance novel ever released and she has been a powerful presence in the novel and gaming lines and amongst the fans since the very origins of the setting into the present day. A wonderful author whose works are treasured by every fan in the setting.
Michael WilliamsIf ever there was a poet laureate of Dragonlance, surely Michael Williams would be it. The master poet and author who has penned works for Dragonlance since the beginning of the setting, both on his own and in collaboration with his wife Teri.
Teri WilliamsGoing between pottery, writing and teaching, Teri is one multi-talented lady. Over the years she has penned several short stories and Dragonlance novels with her husband Michael.
Dan WillisOne of the newer breed of authors, Dan first entertained us with his short story 'Lake of Death' and is now one of the collaborators in the New Adventures line of Dragonlance novels for younger readers.
Steve WinterSteve has worked across various settings in the AD&D worlds as well as having the time to pen Wanderlust with Mary Kirchoff. Presently he still works on gaming lines across multiple and most recently worked on the gaming releases, Monster Manual 2 (AD&D) and the Encyclopedia Vanguard (d20).
Mickey Zucker ReichertOne day an author, another day she's a pediatrician. Whichever way you look at Mickey, she's a remarkable woman. With a host of international bestsellers under her belt, it's not hard to see why she was asked to write a story for Dragonlance. Presently her work can be seen across a broad range of novels, including the esteemed DAW anthologies.
